Welcome

What is going on at the same time in Aiud, in Montevideo and Timisoara, in Tunis and Baia mare? It’s the Very Short Movies Festival –Festival des Très Courts.

In 3, 4, 5 of May 2011, 51 very short movies from the whole world will be projected in over 25 cities in Romania, and in  other 60 towns in 17 countries. All the movies shall respect the same rule: not to last more than 3 minutes. All genres are accepted: fiction, animation, documentary, experimental movie… A concentrate of imagination and inventivity!

The Festival des Très Courts was born in Paris, in 1999; the aim of the festival is to promote the very short movies that last less than 3 minutes, and to gather the people from different areas of the world at the same time, under an identical international program, becoming as such a unifying and unique event. The festival arrived for the first time in Romania in 2007. One year later, more than 5600 spectators had seen the projections from 23 cities from Romania and from Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. This year,  under the coordination of the French Institute in Cluj, the festival gathers the network of French institutes and alliances in Romania, associations for youth, foundations, city halls and county councils, and also cineastes and cinephiles from all the corners of the country.
